FUNCIONARIA DE ACT-ALIANZA VISITA EL SALVADOR Y SE REUNE CON FORO EL SALVADOR

Line Hempel, ACT-Alliance Director of Operations,

visited El Salvador and met with the Forum ACT-El Salvador

With the purpose of planning the work of ACT-Alliance, (Joint Churches Action, from its initials in English), starting with the strategy which was approved in ACT Assembly, Line Hempel, ACT-Alliance Director of Operations, met with the National Forum ACT-El Salvador, on wednesday December 4th.

The Forum ACT-Alliance El Salvador, is formed by the Churches: Reformed Calvinist, Anglican Episcopal, Salvadoran Lutheran, Christian Aid, Lutheran World Federation-El Salvador, among others, and develops processes for strenghtening the communities in situation of vulnerability, based on the focus of the different member entities.

Hempel is visiting El Salvador for three days and expresses the importance of knowing the national forums, in order to listen their main challenges and from those challenges, is seeking to implement the aforementioned strategy.

“We have visited El Salvador and other countries in Central America, to contextualize the ACT strategy, but also, because we know that the ACT member organizations, work hard in topics such as: migrations, forced displacement, disaster humanitarian response, and mostly, gender equity”

The strategy is global, but it adjusts to the regions and contexts. The work of the Regional Office in El Salvador, is supporting the Forums in their strenghtening process, so they can respond to their contexts, in relationship with the ecumenical community and, in that way., raise the voice of the organizations based on faith.
